Social commitment
SOCIAL COMMITMENT
Why it’s worth getting involved socially.
Influenced by travels to distant countries and our two daughters, environmentally and socially responsible commitment has always been important to us as a family.
Living in a foreign country and not just spending your annual vacation there for a short time shows new perspectives on the former vacation spot and often brings out other truths.
Children who cannot go to school because their parents cannot afford the monthly fee of 30 € for school fees including meals has hit us particularly hard as parents of two children. Unthinkable for us Europeans and mostly beyond our European and wealth-spoiled imagination.
It is therefore all the more important to help and support unbureaucratically on site, where our help is welcome. A school table with a bench for two students, for example, including materials and working time, can be made in a local carpentry shop in Tanzania for the equivalent of 30 euros.
Not only can the school be supported directly, but the local economy can also be strengthened and jobs can be created and secured.
Commitment means receiving nothing in return and still doing things as if they would make you rich!

With Lydia Kilindo’s non-profit association, Umoja – Network for Africa e.V., we have found a holistic project that we are happy to support on a regular basis. We were personally able to see for ourselves the local conditions and know that our donations arrive directly.
In addition to a local school in Nungwi and Dar es Salaam, income-generating projects are also being initiated for the local population in order to provide entire families with bread and create long-term prospects.
Handing over collected donations in kind and working on site gives us a lot of joy as a family. That’s why I’m happy to link the association Umoja – Network for Africa e.V., which has every kind can really use a donation. The pictures on this website only provide a small insight into our social work on site.
Do you want to find out more or have ideas about how you can support us locally? Then please feel free to contact us! We’re looking forward to it!
